Greece
Greece is a perfect kitesurfing destination, both near Athens or enjoying its amazing numerous islands!
There are several groups of islands, but the best known for kiteboarding are the Cyclades - notably Paros and the Pounda spot, and Naxos and the Mikri Vigla spot) - and the Dodecanese islands (see the Prasonisi spot) in Rhodes).
You will find a strong and consistent wind (the meltem) there from May to September, but avoid July and August as much as possible if you have the choice, because in high season the prices are much more expensive, and the beaches can be crowded.
The classic quiver is 7/9/12 but do the same with everywhere else, just check the forecast before leaving. We ride in swimsuits, shorts and possibly a top for the more cautious (especially when the going gets tough).
Greece is also an ideal destination to mix kite, discovery, and beach! The country has a rich cultural heritage: it will please your eyes as much as your kites! It is an ideal destination for families to mix sessions, walks, culture and relaxation! In any case, we recommend that you rent a car or scooters, which will allow you to get around and be independent.
You can do a combo between several islands if you go for a long time (via ferry connections), or spend a few days in Athens if you feel like it.
Pros: consistent and strong wind in summer - Magnificent landscapes - Nightlife
Cons: Prices in summer - Mass tourism in high season - Travel can be tedious (by ferry)
