"Amazing experience kiting under the Golden Gate Bridge, and downwind ride back to Treasure Island! John is very cool, fun and professional, he’ll do everything to make the most of your time. 3.30: Meeting John at Treasure Island. He’s ready to go, we jump on the boat for a nice 20mins boat ride to the bridge, passing by Alcatraz for some nice shots 3.50: Getting ready, pumping the kite, enjoying the view. Nice surprise, a whale passes near the boat! 4pm: Waterstart from the boat with a 15m kite. John has all sizes and will change if needed, as the wind may change during the session. In my session, the wind was light and stable at the start, much stronger at the end, but I sticked with the 15m. 4-4.40: Riding beyond the bridge, under, back and forth. The water is very different depending where you go. You’ll have some flat water, some choppy areas, and some big waves where the current is strong. It’s a wide area where you can really enjoy your ride. 4.40-6.10: Slowly getting downwind and riding with the view of the bridge, the city, Alcatraz. I saw a couple of Dolphins who passed by, very emotional moments! 6.30: Back at Treasure Island. John airdrops me some very cool pics and videos, and he’s even created a very professional movie, which is now on my Insta (and his). Hope you liked my story and will want to do it. For me, it’s a must do, and the fun/cost ratio is definitely worth it!!! Enjoy!"

"Had a great lesson here. This was my first time ever windsurfing, and I was amazed that by the end of a 3 hour lesson I was even able to attempt standing up on the board, in the water, with a full size kite. John was incredibly informative, kind, and just a fun guy to spend an afternoon with. I'm hoping to do another lesson soon to keep building on the progress from today. This was a fantastic introduction to windsurfing and I couldn't recommend it more!"

"John is awesome! We had an excellent time learning to kiteboard out on the bay in such a unique way on his boat with radio helmets to aid with instructions. We started with learning how to pilot off the kite off the back of the boat and then how to make strokes with the kite to generate power. Then we each hopped in the water to get comfortable with the kite and do some body drags. Then we got to try with the actual board. Difficult in the water, but super rewarding sport. I would recommend John to anyone seeking lessons!"

"Absolutely fantastic day on the water with John and my buddy learning to ride a foil board (being towed by the boat). Took a lesson previously with a different instructor and equipment and couldn't compare to KiteTheBay. Both my friend and I got up and started to feel very comfortable on the foil. And what a great feeling flying over the water. Thank you so much John."
