Als / Mommark, Denmark is a
Chop, Small waves and Medium waves spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Medium size.
At Mommark Marina you will find one of the most accessible hotspots in the region. From the parking lot you have direct access to the large sandy beach that offers fine conditions for launching and landing your kite. The beach is excellent for bathing but very rarely overrun, even on hot summer days, so feel free to bring friends and family who are up for a nice day at the beach.
Choppy with little waves. The waves can get very nice, with strong SSE to SE winds north of the mole. With stronger N-NE winds nice waves south of the mole. Keep distance from the mole and watch the boats. The water at Mommark Marina becomes deep quickly and it is mostly choppy with small waves and currents from variable directions, so this hotspot is particularly suitable for experienced kite surfers. Generally, the hotspot works best with winds coming from the North, NNW to South and East. In Northern winds you can kite behind the peer where the waters will be flat, so the spot works well under many conditions. Mommark Marina is also very suitable for foil- and windsurfing because of the depth of the water.

Need to know
Careful about the other beach users, especially in
June, July and August
.
When you are on water,
be careful
of
Swimmers, Currents, Boats, Mole, Stones and Stakes
.
Be careful with the boats and launching and landing close to the street on the southern beach. The nearby Marina offers fishing trips, and the area is also known as a good location for scuba diving. A few hundred meters from the hotspot you will also find a cozy wooden shelter to spend the night in; it is be booked in the nearby camping site, which is open from April to October and also has a nice cafe. The safety of the spot is good: there is a defibrillator and an emergency triangle which combined with a spacious view of the water, makes most kiters feel secure.
