Beach and Tide Conditions
Dolls Point, Australia is a
Shallow, Flat and Chop spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Medium size.
The beach is terrible north of the rock groyne - narrow at best. Do not launch north of the rock groyne, lots of bathers during summer, power lines right next to the narrow beach, rock walls. Packed on weekends, mid week is great. South of the groyne is much better but beware of a wind shadow in Northeasterlies near the jetty.
Dolls is a good flat water spot for beginner through advanced. Locals are friendly. The tide runs hard which can be good if it's opposing. Many boards have been lost due to the tide. Make sure a buddy collects your board if you down the kite - it can disappear up river or out to sea.
