How to get there
The airport is in Arrecife. To get to Famara you must drive 30km northeast, going to 'Teguise', and from there to 'Caleta Famara'.

The beach is very nice, not very wide, but about 6km long. To the north are many stones and you only can kite some hours, depending on the tide. It is recommended only for intermediate to advanced kiters. To the south nice and soft sand. No shells, no pebbles, no rocks, few grass. Very secure spot, when the tide is low it has 50 meters from the start of the beach to the sea. Entries and exits very easy.
From April till October the `Aliseos` winds blows, and the water is flat or choppy up to 0.5m. During the autumn and winter there are waves up to 3m, but no regular wind.

In the western part of the bay, kiting is prohibited during summer. The kite zone is all the way up northeast, but you won't find any beach to rig and launch during high tide, there's only rocks. Kiters move down then, as far as possible, but staying well out of the way of the surfers.
