Beach and Tide Conditions
Recommended

Falling Tide

Otterndorf, Germany is a
Shallow, Flat and Chop spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Small size.
No real beach, just a dyke and a grassy area. Do not launch between the beach chairs. Either go 500m to the left where no beach chairs are around or wait until about 2 hrs after high tide and launch from the sand that the lower tide provides, otherwise you have to walk over stones. Launching from the dyke is not recommended for beginners.
Flat to choppy water. Strong current. Tidal spot, but works all the time. Good about 2hrs after high tide then the access is much easier since some sand shows up. Great in W and NW wind after high tide and in NE before high tide. Kitesurfers always downwind of the windsurfers.
