Air temperatures can vary from close to 0°C in the winter with wind chill to a sweltering 25-30°C. Thanks to the gulf stream the water temp does not drop below 10°C. It's possible to ride all year round but a good winter suit is needed out of season. Summertime you can get away with a 3/2 summer suit or at least a shorty.

Perran Sands, England (UK) is a
Shallow, Flat and Medium waves spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Tidal size.
One of the longest beaches in Cornwall. Golden sands. At high tide the beach is split into two, Perran Sands to the North and Perranporth at the town end. Kiting is now forbidden at the Perranporth end. Check signs and maps or speak to the RNLI lifeguards. There is plenty of space to launch and land kites at low to mid tide. At the Perran Sands end there can be room even at high tide. Beware of updrafts over the dunes. It is possible to access the Perran Sands end of the beach via the Haven holiday park and walk through the dunes using an access path or down the steps. DO NOT walk over the dunes as this will cause damage. This is the best end of the beach for kitesurfing now that restrictions apply at the Perranporth end. Its much quiter but there is a NO KITE area around the base of the steps as this is a bathing area for the holiday park.
Atlantic swell from the NW and W. Some shallow flat water around low tide. Popular surfing beach. break waves both right and left. Hollow and powerful working from 3ft and holding 6ft+. Sandy bottom. At its best with a big swell and a SSW-SW Perran sands can offer up near perfect down the line wave riding. Look out for rip tides.
