How to get there
From south (Uppsala, Stockholm or Airport Arlanda) drive on E4 north for approx. 70km from after Uppsala, at "Dragon gate" follow sign towards Skutskaer/Aelvkarleby (approx. 12km). Turn right onto Langsandsvaegen before crossing Dalaelven ("the Dala river") after 4.7 km on this road turn left towards Rullsand.

Mostly cold water, in midsummer (July) shorty can be used otherwise full wetsuit recommended, around July it's often possible to leave gloves and the booties. Drysuits are common for kitesurfers in the area. The site is commonly covered with ice during January to March.

The sandy beach is 600m long and up to 30m wide. Good space for kite launching and landing. Hard to use during summer bathing season (July). Two areas are available: Rullsand close to the mouth of Dalaevlen and the more lagoon like Braemsand directly to the east. Both areas, especially Braemsand can be crowded with bathers during nice warm day from end of June to beginning of August.
The Baltic Sea offers nearly freshwater and no tide or current. With strong N and NE wind, up to 3m swells coming in from N. Further outside big stones under the water surface.
