Recommended tide for kitesurfing is Low Tide,Falling Tide .
Tapuae Marine Reserve, New Zealand is a Shallow, Chop and Medium waves spot.
The launching/landing area is reported to be of Tidal size.
It is near the cliffs. I was told that when the tide is high, the cliffs can cause the wind to go "funny".
The place has a fantastic setting! When clear, it has a great view of the mountain. There are waves and short flats between the waves depending on the tide and the sand bar some 50 m out! Close to car park with grass area. It is a river mouth (small river at the time I checked it).
