At present, Gulf Air, Ethiopian Airlines and KLM (together with Kenya Airways) offer international scheduled flights to Zanzibar. Several large carriers fly into Dar es Salaam, which is only a short trip by air or sea from Zanzibar. Amongst them are British Airways, Emirates Airlines and Swiss. Domestic flights: Precision Air offer a range of scheduled flights between Zanzibar and Tanzania's main cities. Getting to Zanzibar by sea: There are several sea ferry companies that ply the waters between Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. The largest of these is Azam Marine. You can book ferry tickets through a local tour operator.

Average high air temperature: 24-32 C°. Zanzibar experiences ideal holiday weather for most of the year, with the exception of April and May which are seasonally subject to the long rains. Short rains can occur in November but are characterized by short showers which do not last long. The heat of summer is seasonally often cooled by windy conditions, resulting in pleasant sea breezes, particularly on the North and East coasts. Being near to the equator, the islands are warm all year round, but officially, summer and winter peak in December and June respectively. Zanzibar is blessed with an average of 7-8 hours of sunshine daily. Water 28°C all year.

Kusini and Kaskasi are the prevailing wind in the island: 4 months of Kaskasi wind, 2 months with no wind, 4 months of Kusini wind, 2 months with no wind. Kusini: 15th June through 15th October approx. South to North wind. This wind blows every day, permanently, following parallel to the beach line upwards. In the morning the wind has a speed of 15-18 knots whereas at dusk the speed rises to 18-25 knots. Kaskasi: 15th December through 15th April, approx. North to South wind. This wind also blows parallel to the beach, although the speed varies somehow. There are days with gusts of higher speed wind. Even though one can still learn Kite surfing, sea conditions are more adequate for experienced kiters.

Crystal, clean and smooth water on the inside of the reef. Waves on the reef. Sand banks, the only spot the village do not do sea weed farming so sure the is no sticks and sea urchins. The more wind, the more waves there will be, but there is always something on the reef.
