Beach and Tide Conditions
Topanga Beach, California (USA) is a
Chop, Small waves and Medium waves spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Small size.
The launch are is small and there are trees, utility poles and houses right up against the launch area. The launch area is just upwind of where the surfers are so you absolutely have to stay upwind. There is a limited beach area just downwind of the surfers, but only for emergency landings. Wear booties for the rocks! They are everywhere and are a pain to navigate on your way out and in. Make sure you can hold your ground and don't need to return to shore until you are done, otherwise your feet and ankles will not be happy with the extra beating.
There are rocks and a giant rusty steel wall right in the surf.
